Wow! It's the 9th week that I've been here in London. Time surely goes go by fast! Sometimes I feel as if I'd like time to go by slower... but then, there's the saying that "time goes by fast when you're having fun"...
I think we've all pretty much settled here... and we're getting used to living here. Ask us which grocery shop sells a particular item cheapest, where to go shopping, where to find good food, where's a nice place to have a picnic, where to hang out, how to take public transport... and we'll happily smile knowing the answer (at least we think we know). However, ask us to name you all the types of beer or what all the hand signals for cricket signify and we'll politely shrug... some things are easier to learn and more appealing to pick up than others. :P
Summer has been gorgeous... the weather has been surprisingly beautiful... warm sunny days and bright sunlight... definately have become tanned. Beautiful weather is always a good reason to have an extended lunch - in the outdoors, or a picnic... anything... as long as we're outside. It's as if the sun is teasing us to step out... tempting us... drawing us out...
However...
it won't last. Everyone keeps telling me, "pam, the weather has been lovely, but soon it'll be dreary, dark and cold... be prepared for winter blues..."
I'm a person who quite likes rain... but i agree that it isn't too appealing when your shoes get soggy and your clothes get wet. Being splashed by cars driving in puddles and slipping on the wet pavement can be exciting - but messy. I'd like rain if it didn't mix with the dirt on the floor and splash back on you. :) Heheee... imagine if rain was clean... I'd love to go in the rain everyday - it'd be like showering - with your clothes on. :P
Another thing - I sleep better with the sound of rain pitter pattering down on the roof - and... I study better with rain too. :) I guess rain has two opposite effects on me - it helps me relax, but it also helps me concentrate. It's refreshing! :)

sadler's well theatre - alvin ailey's modern dance was fantastic!
